Description
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible. The 2nd Generation Bel Air burst on to the scene making huge waves for its mechanical innovations, notable, the all new and optional for 1957 283 V8 engine. Styling cues included much more pronounced rear tail fins, more chrome, bumperettes and bigger grill. Today these cars are appreciated in all forms, from bone stock to the highest quality pro-touring build. The 57 Bel Air will always remain an American icon.
The 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible offered here features an older, frame off restoration finished in its original factory color combination, Onyx Black over Red and Grey interior. The car comes optioned with the 283 V8 engine and automatic transmission. Other highlights include: power top, classic spinner hubcaps, new convertible top and top frame, new hydraulic cylinders, 5 newer wide white wall tires, recent brake service, AM-FM with cassette and working (when we tested) vintage ARC under dash mounted 45RPM record player with auto record changer. The car remains in wonderful condition inside and out, the acres of chrome and stainless show very nice, under the hood is detailed and very correct right down to the tar top battery, the paint remains deep and glossy and the interior very tidy.
The 1957 Bel Air will never go out of style and a Black over Red example such as the one presented here will always be sought after. This car is a great driving vehicle and is ready for immediate enjoyment. Comes complete with Shop manual, ARC Record Changer manual, top operating instruction manual, and a hand full of 45RPM records from classic artists the Beach Boys and the 4 Seasons.
